Ian is a professional marketeer and expert in the development of international branding and e-commerce, with experience of working as a consultant for advertising agencies including Saatchi and Saatchi and Grey and Dorland.
He has been a member of our team for the last six years and has brought a series of special skills and insights to both our own team and to delegates.
As founder of his own independent design and marketing group he was involved in a series of international brand and product development projects for clients including Evode, Lotus Shoes, JCB, ASDA, Vileda, Qualcast and Just Juice. Ian remains a hands-on marketeer and provides help and support to clients through his own business.
Like all of the Learning Impact team, he is an enthusiastic proponent and developer of SMEs and is skilled in relating his experience at very high level to the strategic marketing needs of smaller clients, who appreciate both his insight and experience in branding, his understanding of pitching for international business and his commitment to, and long experience of digital marketing.
Since the 1990’s Ian has been a member of MAPP – ‘Marketing, Advertising and Promotional Partners’, a leading network of independent communications consultancies with partners across Europe and beyond, and is a Past President of the organisation. He has regular meetings with European colleagues and has facilitated business both for UK companies in export markets and European companies trading in the UK.
Ian is actively involved in marketing circles as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and regularly gives seminars and lectures at Warwick University. He writes extensively for professional publications, runs a number of blogs and has published papers particularly on branding and brand development.
