Robert Taylor BA (hons), RSA Dip

Rob is a full-time member of the Learning Impact team and a Board Director

He is responsible for most of the programme development within Learning Impact, as well as being extensively involved in programme delivery.

Rob’s early career was in aerospace, working in the UK for Rolls Royce and in France for Hispano Suiza (SNECMA). He also has experience of working for the import-export agency (Henry Johnson, Paris) and in market research.

He built his understanding of world-wide product marketing and export management with Lucas Industries.  Rob has run his own business since 1985 and has founded and acted as Director of a number of companies, including one in France (SME Joint Venture) and one in Germany (GmbH started from scratch).  He speaks French and German and has exported training and other services to Germany, Spain, France and Iceland.

Rob’s wide exposure to SME business, together with study at Aston Business School and an abiding interest in what makes SME people tick bring an unusual combination of skills together which laid the foundation for our approach.  Over a twelve year period he has personally delivered workshops to around 4,500 export clients and is able to offer truly exceptional insight into the issues faced by growing exporters.

Having worked with small exporters since the early nineties and with UKTI for around twelve years Rob has an exceptional knowledge of UKTI and the export support infrastructure.

Rob is qualified to train adults and to provide psychometric feedback and counselling and has made use of these skills to bring a fresh and challenging approach to workshop design and delivery.
